ESRM feiert "International Tolerance Day"

Er beendete den Vortrag mit dem Satz: „ Take it the way it is and continue – don’t complain this doesn’t help you.

ESRM celebrates "International Tolerance Day"

On November 16th; the ESRM celebrated the "International Tolerance Day". The whole day was designed according to the concept of tolerance.

Students from secondary schools prepared the program under the guidance of their teachers. The celebrations opened with a parade of S1 students into the Aula, followed by a song whilst the European flags were displayed. The S1 classes also worked on Mascots to display what tolerance meant to them. Class S1 ENB were the proud winners of the first ever ESRM Tolerance Day Trophy.
The Assembly also included video clips, dancing, singing, and speeches. Tom Zijlstra, ESRM Director, greeted the students and showed the quotation from Jean Monnet, which defined the concept of tolerance and European values in 1953, placed at the entrance hall of the school. For ESRM, tolerance is an integral part of school life, which is practiced on a daily basis. After all, nearly 1500 pupils from more than 54 nations attend the school.

Particularly emotional was the presentation of an S7 pupil, who himself came to the ESRM as a refugee two and a half years ago and reported on his experiences. He told of his flight from Somalia and the help and recognition he has now found in Germany and the ESRM in particular. He finished the lecture with the sentence: "Take it the way it is and continue - do not complain this does not help you.

The S2 students closed the Assembly with another musical performance. We are already looking forward to next years’ show.
